Statement:

Turkey hunting has been a passion that consumes me each spring.

I’m a transplant from PA. I owe my start to my father who took me hunting & fishing in PA mostly for small game, but occasionally for things like turkeys and deer.

I still have the first turkey call he gave me, a Rodger Latham slate.

I went a few times when I was young, but I really got hooked by friend Mike Dreisbach of Perfection Turkey Calls who graciously gave a neophyte turkey hunter a few mouth calls & most importantly spent valuable time teaching me how to yelp & cluck on a diaphragm, as well as scratch out some yelps & purrs on a slate or glass call. I always carry his Screaming Demon custom glass call with me in the woods because it’s what I used to call in my fist gobbler.

My closest friend, Brian Korte has taught me more about box calls than anyone, and his hand made custom boxes sound great. I’ve spent more time with Brian chasing Turkeys than anyone else and I thoroughly enjoy every minute. Better yet I’m constantly learning from him and others.

Enjoy: Skiing, Target shooting, Sporting Clays, Skeet, Archery, Training our Chocolate Lab Hershey, Photography, Fly Fishing, Coaching Softball & Collecting Antique Turkey Calls.
My Dream Hunt: A Canadian or Alaskan hunt for Elk, Caribou, Moose & Grizzly! - If I ever get though all this I would set my sights on an expedition to Africa!
Picture shows my first MA Turkey - Killed right after fly down.

I had snuck in between 5 Gobblers and a pack of hens. Each Gobbler strutted on the limb before flying down. And when they hit the ground my heart sank as one by one they all ran through the opening I had to shoot them, past me to the hens - except the last one - He stopped to a soft cluck - his lust in the end was his demise.
